Project Overview
A three-day outdoor music and culinary festival in Wichita required full-scale portable sanitation for an anticipated crowd of more than 15,000 visitors. The festival grounds spanned a large outdoor venue near the Riverside area, with multiple stages, food vendor rows, a craft beer garden, VIP hospitality tents, and a family activity zone spread across the property.
The event organizers faced several specific challenges. The multi-zone layout meant that a single restroom location would create unacceptable walk times for guests at the far ends of the grounds. The three-day duration required a robust servicing plan to maintain cleanliness across the entire weekend. ADA compliance was mandatory, with accessible units needed at every restroom station. And the VIP ticket tier — which included premium food and beverage access — demanded restroom facilities that matched the elevated experience.

Initial Assessment
Gigantix Porta Potty Rental Wichita conducted a comprehensive site assessment six weeks before the festival. We walked the grounds with the event operations team, mapped the layout of stages, vendor areas, entrances, and VIP zones, and developed a zone-based deployment plan.
Key findings from the assessment:

Portable hand wash stations were placed at every zone, with additional stations near food vendor areas. Holding tank services supported the luxury trailers for continuous operation.

- Main Stage Zone (24 units): The largest cluster, handling the highest traffic volume during headline performances

- Secondary Stage Zone (8 units): Serving the secondary performance and family activity area
- VIP Zone (6 units): Two luxury trailers plus dedicated standard and ADA units for VIP ticket holders
Servicing Schedule
We implemented twice-daily servicing for all public zones: a full morning service before gates opened and a mid-afternoon service during the lower-traffic transition between stage performances. The VIP luxury trailers received three daily services to maintain premium presentation standards. An on-call emergency service vehicle was stationed within 10 minutes of the venue throughout the festival.
Outcome
The deployment was a complete success across all three days. Key outcomes included:

- Average wait time under 2 minutes at all restroom zones throughout the event
- 100% uptime — no units were out of service at any point
